ADVENTURE '15 worldwide schools project on 19th November 2015
TEACHERS: For one day this year you can take your class on a worldwide adventure with over 65000 learners (aged 4-old) from over 2200 schools in 55 Nations without leaving your classroom! On 19th November 2015, tens of thousands of learners across the globe would like your class to join them on possibly the world's biggest virtual cultural exchange. Using a webcam and projector (or other) you'll meet learners from across the world, get to know a little about where they are from, and work with them on a global project! Jack Trelawny is supporting Adventure '15 via Skype.
PROJECT 1:
THE WORLD SCHOOLS 'BOOK OF CHILDHOOD' 24 Schools from 24 Nations in 24 Time Zones will Write a Book in 24 Hours. Is your school joining in The Adventure?
What will happen?
During the course of the day Adventure '15 hopes to link at least 24 schools in 24 countries in 24 time zones to write a book about childhood around the world. The book will be created as an ebook and made available free to children globally! How will it work? A primary or elementary school will be chosen in one of each of at least 24 countries and asked to submit a maximum of 5 pages (a chapter) about life in their country. They can draw, write, or even stick things on a page, as long as the material is submitted digitally. Then what? The book will be illustrated by children as part of the project. Each class will also submit an illustration (if they wish) to be considered for the front and rear cover of the book. The book will be published as an ebook and made available for primary / elementary schools across the globe free of charge. |
