MY STORY HOUSE
JACK TRELAWNY'S 'MY STORY HOUSE' CREATIVE WRITING SYSTEM
The 'house' starts simply with four 'W' Rooms for younger children. They are encouraged to collect ideas and put them in the relevant room. Then they can mix up all the ideas they have collected to make their own stories.
It then grows into complete system, a tower house, which older children can use as a template to build more complex stories.
Advanced writers can also use the story house to identify the elements of existing stories.
WHAT ROOM = PLOT
The WHAT Room contains 'plot' ideas... WHAT happens in the story?
TRELAWNY TIP:
Try mixing up two or more "old" story plots from existing stories
to make your own "new" story.
